hi there it's been a LONG time since i needed help from this fine forum, (so long i had to create a new account)
but i need tips, i have acquired a used compustar (working perfect when i pulled it) cm7200 brain with a blade-al but NO harnesses except the black 20 pin (CN4) and a black 6 pin (CN3)
i have 2 questions
1)do i need the high current (CN1) and grey 20 pin harness (CN5)?
and 2) can i reflash the blade to the correct GM firmware?
the unit came from a 2014 grand cherokee trade in,(my dealer pulls all aftermarket items before it hits the line) so the blade has jeep/chrysler firmware
i have th efull install manual and the wiring diagram for the 06 ion
i have installed plenty of remote starts just none on a ion with their funky passkey2 system and never a compustar blade most of my installs are OEM kits and older cars that are W2W this is my first attempt at D2D or a hybrid system
any tips?

You won't need the CN1 harness but you will need to flash firmware and rewire the Blade harness according to iDatalink instructions. The grey harness you will need since this takes care of all your convenience features and also the inputs required for remote start operations.

cool so i can reuse the existing blade then?
from what i can gather i will need yellow orange pink WHITE/ black and WHITE/ orange from the blade harness for the bypass and data with GM4-EN firmware and type 1 wiring
however this is the confusing part this note is in the upper corner
STANDARD 12 VOLT, IGNITION AND ACCESSORY,
STILL REQUIRED FROM THE REMOTE STARTER
which harness is this from? all the info i can find including here show these from the high current harness,
also do i need the 6 pin CN3 harness the idaialink instructions don't show it
sorry to be a pain but the last saturn i installed a remote start in was for my EXwife on her 98 SL1 and that was a piece of cake to bypass the passlock.
the ion it seems is different and if not done correctly has a tendency to damage BCM's

You said that you have the CN3 harness ? You will need this but not the CN1. Connect the CM7200 according to what the iDatalink link diagram states.
