Hey guys hoping you can help me out with my smart start issue. Over the weekend i installed a dball2 in rsr configuration on my 2016 Tacoma. Everything works as designed starts with 3 hits of the lock and everything. The smart start however will not light the green light confirming its connection with the module. I have a solid orange light confirming its signal. I have it set up with the D2D white connector on the module. Power and ground wires are not hooked up per installation directions. I even removed my wife smart start from her car thinking it was the problem and it wont connect on that either. After messing with it over and over to connect I re flashed and still nothing. Any ideas would be helpful thanks guys!

I'm having the same exact issue with mine. I'll keep an eye on your post if anyone comes up with a solution. I'll post to yours if anyone provides one to mine.

did you flash the correct firmware in RSR mode via xkloader3?
"To ensure that the D2D communication between SmartStart and DBALL2 works properly, the Gray wire must be connected to a ground source (Rev B SmartStart), and the Brown or Blue loop must be cut (Rev A SmartStart)."
**
If a loop is cut, the module must be powered off
and then on again to initiate this state change.
Also could be dball module programming. The default setting is set to NO RF output(OPTION 1). Try changing it to option 2 in the programming (RFTD output)

I used the xkloader2 via my laptop. Do I need the xkloader3?
I'll try the output tomorrow
