Hello,
When replacing a factory radio with another factory radio, I know that the dealer must perform programming to enable the replacement to work with the vehicle. My question is: can the original radio be reinstalled without further dealer involvement? Does the programming done by the dealer change information in the vehicle or in the radio?
I am asking because I am considering experimenting with a replacement factory radio, but I may want to revert back to the original. I'd like to know if I'll need to go back to the dealer each time, or if both radios would be interchangeable once the replacement has been matched to the vehicle.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

They change the info in the radio. Old radio will work if put back in.
