You could, However you should be using a wire harness to connect the aftermakrket radio. Hopefully you haven't already cut off the factory plug. I can let you know what wire harness you need but I need to know if it
has the factory Bose system and does it have on star? Thanks

if your factory radio was a BOSE system then it will need more than just ignition power, the radio will turn on but you will either get no sound because the factory amp needs to be turned on too. the factory amp uses a data signal from the factory radio to turn on and that is the main job of the adapter harnesses. OR, you can run speaker wires to the factory speaker wires located at the factory amp. it really depends on exactly which level factory system came stock in your tahoe.

There are very few premium bose systems out there. If it is a premium bose system it will require hardware to turn the amplifier on. If non premium it will simply require 12 volts on the amp turn on wire. To tell if it is premium, simply turn the volume up quickly, if the sound quickly changes you do not have a premium bose system. The volume will gradually go up on the premium system.
