I've search numerous post regarding this but was unable to find a true answer in regards to how this was resolved. I am looking at installing a remote starter on these years and models of Lexuses. My biggest concern/question is what is the true method for disabling the factory alarm after remote start? There are people stating use the aftermarket unit's arm/disarm wires to the vehicle's arm and disarm wires in the door panel. Other's mentioned just using the door lock/unlock wires programmed with a double pulse. And other's stated using the status output wire from aftermarket unit to the keysense of the vehicle. Can somebody that have experience in working with these year's and models give their input? Thank you so much ahead of time.

What kind of remote starter are you installing?
Connecting a status wire to keysense will disarm the alarm for remote start, so if you're just installing a one-button system and don't need to unlock the door until after the vehicle is started, the keysense connection is all you need.   If you're installing a system with keyless entry, and want to be able to lock/unlock the vehicle without starting it, then you'll need to run wires into the door to catch arm/disarm at the door module.

This is a VIPER 4706V, 2-way remote start with keyless entry. So with this unit, will i need to use the door lock/unlock or the arm/disarm wires from the viper unit to go to the arm/disarm of the car doors? Also, will keysense need to be hooked up?

Personally, I'd connect the status wire to keysense to disarm the alarm for remote start, then run the lock/unlock wires into the door and connect them to the factory alarm arm/disarm wires there, to arm/disarm the alarm for keyless entry. Program the unlock wire for a double pulse. If you want the system to re-arm the alarm and lock the doors after the remote starter shuts down or times out, then run the Viper factory alarm arm wire into the door instead of the lock wire.
Alternately, you could connect the Viper factory alarm disarm wire together with the unlock wire to run into the door, instead of connecting the keysense wire. A single pulse on the factory disarm wire on the door should disarm the alarm without unlocking, and the Viper disarm wire will provide this pulse before remote start. However, in some vehicles a pulse on this wire will unlock the driver's door only. I don't recall if that's the case on your Lexus, so the keysense wire is a little more foolproof.
