I have 2 12 inch kickers that are dual 1ohm vcs. Right now they are hooked to a 1 ohm stable Memphis power reference amp that's 1000 watts. I would like to install my JL audio that's 1200 watts but at 2 ohms. I can wire each sub seperate to 2 ohms. My amp is a mono block but has 2 speaker connections. If I wire the subs individually to 2 ohms will it remain a 2 ohm load once I hook them to my amp? I've heard there's a way but really don't trust who I heard it from lol. Can someone please help me?

No, it will be a 1 ohm load at the amp. Your only other option is to wire all four coils in series for a 4 ohm load.

That sucks cuz it's only 600 watts at a 4 ohm load. I've also heard of people running 1 ohm loads on JL Amps without problems. What do you think?

The difference you'll hear between 600 and 1000 watts is minimal. I'd try it wired at 4 ohms and give it an honest listen before deciding which amp/set-up I liked best, but I'd stay away from running an amp at a lower impedance than its rated.

Awesome! Thanks for the input and I'll let you know when I get it hooked up.
