I recently purchased a 2017 Chevrolet Express van. I am thinking I should have bought an aftermarket head unit but I purchased a factory head unit with navigation and no onstar. I had a cheap Alpine KTP-445U amplifier in my last Chevy Express and moved it over to my new one. I added an Audio control Signal processor LC2 . Crutchfield supplied me with an aftermarket wiring harness and chime box and all worked well. Now, Crutchfield doesn't know if this new kit will work with an OEM radio and has stated their opinion as "not". My issue is everytime I open my door the door chimes are amplified to a very annoying sound level. My question is "Does anyone no of a work around?" I am thinking there has to be a wire going into the radio harness that is sending the chime signal. If so, I need to send it to an external chime of some sort , un-amplified. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want the door dinger or if the vehicle has bluetooth and you use it, you will have to mount a speaker behind or below the dash and connect it to the front left channel of the oem radio. Use the rear input to feed both the front and rear channels of the amplifier. You will not be able to fade, but you can adjust the gains on the amplifier to get your desired front / rear output the way you want it.
