Hi,
I installed an Audiovox Prestige APS997E with the FlashLogic FLCAN(already programmed) in my 2012 Scion IQ. I've connected all the wires and set the FLCAN module to data 2 data mode. When I try to program the key by inserting the key in the ignition and turning it to the on position I get a solid red led light which indicates, more vehicle information is needed. I've tested the thick heavy gauges for the appropriate powers which were all good. I also soldered all the wires too. Not sure what else I'm missing. Any help is much appreciated.

After some more researching I'm thinking that the Orange/Black (Parking Brake Input) should be grounded instead of connecting to the E-Brake Status. I've read somewhere that the E-Brake Status wire on the FLCAN is for manual transmission, correct me if wrong? My cars an automatic.

Does anyone know the minimal wires needed for the FLCAN module(FLC-AL(DL)-TL5-EN) to be programmed?

A few thoughts...
Does your ignition key have an "o" or a "G" stamp on it?
Only the "G" stamped key is compatible with this firmware. Additionally, for the programming process, only the black
primary master keys should be used, not the gray Valet key.
Your iQ has two Starter wires. You can use the thick Pink ING3 wire for this wire with some R/S programming to change the
Pink wire from IGN to Starter output. Bank 3, Feature 8, Option 4 chirps. Also, connect the Red/Black to +12V constant
as it supplies power to the Pink wire.
Some changes for the FLCAN connections :
FLCAN;
Data Mode
Yellow/Red(Trunk Status) ==> DK.Green on alarm (- Instant Trigger Input)
Brown/Red(CANH) ==>ODBII 06Pin Purple wire
Brown/Yellow(CANL) ==> ODBII 14Pin White wire
Orange/Black (IMMOBILIZER)==> ODBII 07Pin Red wire
Pink(Ignition) ==> Ignition wire on Alarm BLUE ==> (IGNITION 1 BROWN (+))
Green/Red(Doorlock Data) ==> Brown wire on MECU 30Pin
Gray/Red(Ground) ==> Aftermarket hood pin      This wire goes to Chassis Ground. *
E-Brake Status ==> not used
* Connect the R/S Gray/Black directly to the kit supplied Hood Pin.
For the FLCAN programming, try this :
1. Disconnect all FLCAN harnesses except the 4 Pin D2D harness.
2. Disconnect the D2D harness.
3. Hold the FLCAN programming button and plug in the D2D harness.
4. Release the button as soon as the LED starts flashing Red.
5. Wait until the LED starts flashing a single Green pattern.
6. Press the programming button once. The LED should start doing a double Green blink pattern.
7. Press and hold the programming button. The LED will go solid Green for 2 seconds and then OFF.
8. Plug in the remaining harnesses.
9. Insert key into ignition.
10. Turn key to ON. Wait, the LED will go solid Green for 2 seconds.
11. Turn key to OFF and remove key.
Soldering is fun!

kreg357 thanks for the suggestions. The more I look at the Keys the more I'm incline to think they don't have a chip in it. I can't find either a "G" or "O" on both the keys.

Try the Foil Wrap test.
Just wrap about 5 layers of aluminum foil around the black plastic key head and try a regular key start.

Okay, I'll try that. I can also go to my local ACE hardware store and have them check too. Thanks.

Another way is to just key a plain key cut for $1.99 and see if it will start and run the car. They might have the blank at ACE.

Went to ACE hardware and had them check my key on a machine that can tell if there's a chip in it or not, and turns out the key doesn't have a chip. Just for safe measures had them cut me a regular key to test out, which did work when I tested it. I'll be taking out the FLCAN and just'll be finishing up the wires on the Prestige APS997E. Thanks for ur help kreg357.
