How can I trigger leds to turn on with the operation of the motor of each individual fuel pump rather than using the hot side of the relay?   I want to monitor the operation of 3 fuel pumps and the factory pump trigger.   I'd like to be able to tell when the pumps are actually running and not when they are being triggered by the relay, as this is a3 stage boost referenced fuel system on a twin turbo car, and pump operation is critical.
Using a fore innovation triple pump module, I have the system wired so the main pump relay is triggered by the factory pump trigger, and the next 2 are connected to factory pump trigger+12v but triggered by ground through hobbs switches set to 7 and 15psi.
I could connect to each relay +12v, but that would only monitor relay operation and not pump operation.
I gave thought to tying the grounds from the leds to the ground of the pump and then diode isolating to chassis ground to only allow the led to ground when current is flowing through pump to ground.   Using the diode as a check valve
Am I off base here, or is there a better way?

Get a 12 volt LED and connect it across the pump wires. Or get a conventional LED and series a 1K Ohm resistor and then connect that across the pump wires.

That's it?   Just a 1kohm resistor and the led across the pump wires?   That's so much easier than I expected lol
