2010 Toyota Tacoma 2nd Gen Double Cab
EasyGuard EC002, PKE and pushbutton start
Bypass Essentials 556U, Chip Bypass
OK I've got the whole system wired and working with one exception: the EasyGuard EC002 connects a ground (-) which activates the relay in the 556U correctly but it's too short of a duration to keep the Toyota running.
So:
A. Holding the key at the ignition and dropping it (removing the chip from reader)
1. starts but fails to run if the key is dropped immediately (less than 1 second)
2. starts and runs if the key is kept in range for ~ more than one second
B. the ground trigger from the EC002 alarm fires (connecting the signal ground of the 556U) for less than a second
1. the truck starts but doesn't run identical to A.1.
C. the signal ground of the 556U is removed from the EC002 alarm and connected to chassis ground
1. the truck starts and runs identical to A.2.
The problem with doing C. "just connect the damn thing to ground" is it eliminates all security because the chip reader is bypassed constantly. Even if I power it only with key on it's still constantly on bypassing the EC002.
The solution, it seems to me, is simple:
D. Increase the duration of the ground signal to ~2 seconds.
The question is HOW do I increase the duration of a < 1s ground to > 2s?

Most decent remote systems have an output signal called Ground When Running ( GWR ), (-)Status Output or (-)3rd Ignition which is used by the 556UW as the transponder bypass turn-on signal. I can't locate an Install Guide for your EasyGuard EC002 system to see if it has that signal output available. Anyway, the GWR wire outputs a (-)signal at the beginning of a remote start sequence, just prior to bringing up the Ignition output and it stays at (-) during the entire R/S runtime. That is the signal you need for the 556UWs BLUE (-) Status Input.
Soldering is fun!

If you do C, your battery will take a hit.
There should be an output on their that provides GROUND when the unit is active.

does the unit have a - ignition output? if not, you could always wire up a relay and you the Pos output for ign to do the "gwr"
