I purchased a used vehicle that has Astrostart remote start. The previous owner stated that the unit was no longer working and he was not sure why. The 2 remotes have batteries and show green when buttons are pressed by no response is made by the vehicle, no door locks, no parking lights flash and no remote start
I have tried the key on off process with the hood open. I also tried to flip dip switch 8 and 1 and try the brake and remote lock button process both with no luck
I called tech and he told me the unit needs a "hard reset" and he wants 60 bucks to repair it
If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it
The unit say Astro flex on it and the model is BBF the remote is 4 button and the remotes say tx60a on the back
Thanks in advance

Further information. When I tried dip switch 8 to learn the remote the brain did not respond when I pushed the lock key.i am now fairly confident either the remote is not fun ting even though it beep and the green light flashes or the antenna is dead. It's a XR fm antenna
Any thoughts?

Fixed the issue. Multiple things were causing it. First I replaced the 2 batteries in the remote. Even though the old ones made the green remote light come on, they were not strong enough to fully power the remote. Secondly I had to reprogram the remote to the brain using the number 8 dip switch. Finally the on off button was toggled to off instead to on.
