I'm trying to add an Avital 4003l remote start to my 2004 Nissan Frontier, crew cab V6. I've made all of the heavy gauge connections and triple-checked for voltage/continuity/etc.
Using the wiring diagrams from http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.aspx , I hooked up the following (after the complete heavy-gauge harness):
Main harness:
Activation wire (white/blue on Avital) to vehicle brown @ pin 4, in the smart entry module
Black (ground) to a very solid chassis ground, no resistance
White to the vehicle parking lights (blue/red at the headlight switch)
Remote start harness: Black/white connected to ground temporarily for testing.
And I check the jumpers (negative pulse for activation, positive for headlights), plug it in, and...nada. No status lights, no nothing, no power to the unit.
All of the fuses are in and intact.
It definitely doesn't need a bypass as I can start it with a cheap hardware-store key.
Halp!

Before I get too far along, does the truck have an Automatic Transmission?
Soldering is fun!
