Compustar CM7000 Options Programming?

I put this model in my truck years ago and now just put one in gf truck but for the life of me I can't program options.remotes are programmed, I'm following instructions....I'm trying to go in group 2 but when tap key button after 3rd time ito flashes like 3 times and that's it....it don't really seem like I'm in options as if I just sit here I don't get no time out exit flashes. Any ideas.

You don't need the key on. I do it with just vehicle unlocked. Hold the 2 buttons for 3 seconds until flash/chirp then again 3 seconds until flash/chirp, then push the selection button the # of times for that menu choice. Wait for flash for each time you press button, then wait for car to flash or chirp the amount will be same as menu you chose. (Menu 3-7 would flash lights 7 times) after that push your selection. Car will chirp/flash the # you choose. (Option 2 would flash lights twice)
