Need Advice with ATA AMP & Kenwood speakers

Total novice with Car Audio helping my niece that ask to install system she got in her Mazda 3 Head Unit so I did ...I guess....I did use instructions. Amp is an ATA 2600.2 & 2- Kenwood KFC-W112S speakers with enclosure. I ran all wires & wired speakers per Kenwood saying to wire In Parallel or series. I wired in Parallel , didn't make no sense to me wiring 2 speakers to one connection. I tapped into the Head unit using a Sooche RCA Adapter with remote. I ran the speaker wires from both left & right +/- 's. But when connecting to speakers only one hookup I used because both speakers are in parallel to one connections. FYI when I ran wires I used ATA Manual to recommendation for "Full Stereo". First question: Do I only use the left & right connection from the Amp to the single speaker connections and not hook the other set to nothing? I have not attempted to power up the system yet with the Amp & speaker setup I installed . Can anyone offer recommendations on the first power up? I don't fully comprehend all the settings as to X-over-LPF-HFF , Level, BASSEQ, LPF & HPF screw adjustments . All advice is gratefully appreciated. Thanks

I am no expert. My advice is to wait until you get a response from someone that knows what they are talking about before you try to do this and cause damage, it can happen really quick. I think it is a bad idea to hook a speaker up to two different amp outputs.

Connect 1 speaker to each channel of the amplifier.

Thanks for the reply, so I need to re wire the speakers to make sure one speaker is connected to amp "Left" & the other speaker to "Right" (+/- 's). Can you offer the logic as Kenwood Instructions instructed to wire the 2 speakers together basically? I've always been a "Need to Know" person! Can you also offer any Power Up recommendations? You had to be looking at the suggestion if connecting to a 1 channel amplifier.
