Notes:
NOTE:  Some models of this vehicle are equipted with PATS (Passive Anti Theft System).   *1  Two brown wires at switch, both have to be powered for remote start.  *2  You may also use the pink/green power unlock wire.  *3  On early production vehicles it is in the driver kick panel, in the harness to the rear of the vehicle. On late production vehicles it is behind the glove box at the central security module.  *4 In the drivers door harness find yellow/black for the drivers door. In the drivers kick panel find lt. GREEN/ YELLOW for the drivers rear door.  In the passengers kick panel find gray/red for the passenger front door, and pink/lt. blue for the passengers rear door.  All four wires are negative trigger and must be diode isolated together.   *5  Arms on lock only with door open. It is necessary to send a signal to door    trigger as well as lock to arm factory alarm.   *6  The PCM is located at the top of the firewall towards the passenger side, the tan / YELLOW tach wire is also found at the back of the instrument cluster. Can also use any tan/stripe at the coil pack.  *7  Also found yellow/white(-) at the firewall connector.  *8  On models with keyless entry the doorlocks are negative trigger. Without keyless entry they are 5wi reverse polarity.  *9 The GEM in this vehicle shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to "wake-up" the system .

On the *9 in the diagram, do I need to use a relay wired for the negative door lock system in order to unlock the doors, or how do I wake up the GEM on the Sport Trac.  I can not unlock my doors if I lock them with the keypad, unless I start my sport trac first.

You need to add a relay to triger the ignition wire and also your transponder bypass to pulse before unlock.

Please elaborate a bit on this - I am a novice at this - how would I wire that relay, and why does the transponder bypass have to pulse?  I have a diagram for a negative lock system, using a 30 amp relay, which would use the power supplied with my aftermarket keyless entry system to generate the negative trigger, will that let me use the unlock wire without waking up the GEM??

What type of remote start do you have?  Does it have external or internal relays?

No that will not work.  You have to power up the ignition and the transponder bypass in order to wake up the GEM.  The reason you need to power pulse the transponder pypass is because if you just power up the ignition wire you will trip the factory alarm which will likely prevent the truck from starting for a few minutes.

I have a Dynatech CRS600OP, which has internal relays as far as I can tell.  I had this installed, but they did a half job, and did not have it wired correctly, and did not hook up the door lock and unlock.  I have re-wired it to where it works correctly, but can't get the unlock to work if I do not lock it with the remote start keyless entry.  I have a 2001 Sport Trac, but it is basically the same wiring diagram.  Here is how it is wired up now:

6 Pin Main Harness

Red Wires (2): +12 VDC Main Power Source Input - Connected to Fuse Power

Brown:  Ignition 2 - Switched +12 VDC Output - This wire is not hooked up

Yellow:  Ignition 1 - Switch +12 VDC Output - Connected to Ignition switch

Orange: Accessory +12 VDC Output - Heater/Air - Connected to Accessory wire

Violet:  Starter Output +12 VDC - Connected to Starter Wire

The remote starter portion of the unit works great - here is the 10 pin harness hookups:

Yellow: +12 VDC Input for Brake Switch - Connected to Brake Wire

Violet: Shock Sensor Bypass Sensor Side - Not Connected

Blue: Negative Hood Trigger Input - Connected to installed hood pin

Green: Tach Sense - connected to tach wire

Gray: 500 Ma Negative Output when Running - connected to Transponder Bypass kit

Orange: Negative Starter Trigger Input - Connected to lock motor - Pink/Black wire to use factory keyless entry to activate starter unit.  I tied this in at the passenger side kick panel because of ease to locate.

Black: System Ground

Brown: Shock Sensor Bypass Alarm Side - Not Connected

Red: +12 Volt Power for System Electronics - Connected to fused 12 Volts

White: +12 VDC Output for Flashing Parking Lights - connected to parking lights

3 Pin Doorlock Connector

Green: Negative Door Lock Pules Output - Connected to power lock (Pink / YELLOW) in passenger kick panel due to ease to locate

Red: +12 VDC OUtput - Used to Energize the doorlock relays only (Pin 85 or 86) Not connected

Blue: Negative Unlock Pulse Output - connected to door unlock Pink/Lt Green in passenger kick pannel

3 Pin Accesory Plug

GREEN/ Black Stripe: Trunk Release Negative Output - not used

Red: Factory Alarm Disarm Negative Output - not connected

Yellow: Vacuum Switch Input - not connected

I would be glad to fax the manual to anyone to look at who could possibly help me correct my installation.  The remote starter portion works great - and the door lock and unlock work unless I lock the doors with the factory remote, the door lock switch, or the keypad.  Then when I try to use the remote starter unlock - it will not unlock the doors.  I would like to be able to do away with my factory remote, since the factory remote will not operate if the ignition is activated on a Ford.  I am a novice at this, and live in a remote area, and the only people around here who do these installs, are who did mine, and did not do it correctly.  Thanks to anyone in advance who can help me hook this up correctly.  I am also concerned that I am activating and de-activating my factory alarm on the 2001 Sport Trac correctly as well.
