Yes you tap into those wires the same way you would tap into ignition wires or any other wires..Be sure to test all wires first as you never know if the info available is 100% accurate. Good luck,
Mike

On the wiring coming from the main control unit has the following:
red wire that's to be hooked up to 12V on key cylinder
blue wire that's to be hooked up to Power supply wire for air-conditioner or heater(ACC output)
two brown wires that's to be hooked up to "key on"
and a yellow wire that's to be hooked up to the power supply wire for starter motor
On a 2003 Taurus what wires would they "hook up" to
Constant 12V+     GREEN/ Black        Ignition Switch Harness
Starter      RED / Light Blue      Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition      RED / Light Green      Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition 2      Gray / YELLOW      Ignition Switch Harness
Accessory      Gray / YELLOW      Ignition Switch Harness

red-grn blk
ylw-red blu
brn-red lt grn
brn2-gry ylw This needs to be tested with a meter
blue-gry ylw This needs to be tested with a meter
It doesnt sounds right that the factory would wire their car with the same wire colors doing two different things off of the same switch. Good luck.
Someone pass me that bottle.

"red wire that's to be hooked up to 12V on key cylinder"
This will go to the thick GREEN/ violet or yellow wires off the ignition cylinder.
"blue wire that's to be hooked up to Power supply wire for air-conditioner or heater(ACC output)"
This will go to your gray / YELLOW wire off the ignition cylinder.
"two brown wires that's to be hooked up to key on"
These will go to your RED / green and BLACK/ green wires. If it is possible to program one of these to be off during crank instead of an ignition wire, program the one that you hook to the BLACK/ green wire that way.
"a yellow wire that's to be hooked up to the power supply wire for starter motor"
This will go to your RED / blue wire off the ignition cylinder.
Sounds like you have some conflicting information so be sure to test all your wires! Good luck,
Mike
