Hello all. I am in need of the wire colors and factory amp location in my 2001 Yukon. I am trying to install an amp and subwoofers and am going to keep the factory stereo. Is a line level convertor the way to go and what wires can I tap into to get the rear channel speakers? Thanks for all your help in advanced...

You will find the factory amp behind the glove box and to the right. You should be able to access all the speakers from that point. You could drop the glove box by pressing in the sides. The wiring is standard GM colors lite colors positve and darker negative. However you could use a fluke type meter to detrmine polarity. Just did my brothers 2000 Yukon and it's a ground pounder. Good luck !  2001 Yukon factory amp location -- posted image.
