I am going to be installing a Remote start and Alarm on a 02 Explorer soon and wanted to make sure I had all my ducks in a row.  Do some researching from this board, which is very helpful but still have a few questions mostly with door locks and triggers.

Locks: 1) The GEM and CSM (Central Security Mod) do I need to wire up both for door locks, or will wiring up the GEM to 'wake up' will this also lock and unlock the doors so I do not have to find the lock and unlock wires on the CSM?

2) Where is the GEM located?

Triggers: 1) The RS/Alarm has separate triggers for doors, trunk/hatch and hood.  Is there a separate trigger for the hatch and hood on the explorer, or do I need to add a pin?  I would like to keep it separate since the remote displays which trigger was tripped.

2) I read on the boards here that since the explorer 'shuts down' you can get false triggers from the door across the dome light trigger.  What is the best why to solve this?  Diodes?  Where and how? I am unclear on this.  Or tap into the 'door ajar' light on cluster?

3) Sort of a combo of both 1 & 2.  If I do have to pin the hatch, and still use dome light or 'door ajar' trigger won't I get 2 triggers for the hatch.  Can this be eliminated?

Thanks in Advance

Notes:
NOTE: Some models of this vehicle are equipped with PATS (Passive Anti Theft System). Use DEI module 555U to over-ride during remote start. *1 The CSM (Central Security Module) is below the passenger side 'C' pillar. *2 The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is behind the glove box above the kick panel. *3 For tach go to one of the ignition coils or coil pack and use the wire that is NOT WHITE/ lt. blue. *4 The GEM in this vehicle shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to 'wake-up' the system refer to directfax document #1094.
