hello, i just helped a friend install a deck in an oldsmobile 1996 lss.  I knew the steering wheel controls wouldn't work, but now the heater doesn't work.  I checked the fuses, and they are fine.  The defroster works, but the vents will not blow any air.  I tried to install the OEM deck, and still no heater.  But it did work before the install.  I used a metra wiring harness, and did not cut any factory wires.  Can anyone help me out?

Thanks

jimmy

My first thought would be that you have unplugged something while changing the HU. Check all connections on the back of the a/c HU. and make sure there are no wire plugs undone, or any vaccum lines pulled loose.
With a torch and a big enough hammer...it WILL friggin fit!!

i know you lose the heater on some of these vehicles when you pull the radio for service, ( open connection on the E&C section of the class II bus )  but you said you put the factory radio back in and still had no heater??

i had something like that happen to me on a suburu, it was a cable that goes from the controls to a/c behind the dash that opens the vent to let the air through the dash vents was disconnected,  just had to reconnect it and it worked. did you check under the hood for fuses too?
