Hi I would like to know if anyone can post a wiring diagram for a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse and also was wondering if that car has any security system. It has Keyless but I am not sure about an alarm.

Thanks very much Jeff. Any idea what kind of immobilizer? I guess I'm not sure what that means. I noticed a an icon on the dash that shows a car with a key in it but the customer says it never comes on. Also that when he bought it, it wasn't advertised with a security system. I tried opening the drivers window and hitting the lock on remote twice until the horn sounded and then waited a few minutes then unlocked from drivers interior and opened the door but no alarm sounded. So I assume that means it has no factory alarm.  How hard a job do you think it would be to mount the security led so that it is behind the icon in the gauge area of the dash. I think it would look very stock and more professional. Or maybe you know of an easier way. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks again for the help.

Hey Steve, to find out for sure wether or not it has an Immobilizer , go down to the local hardware store or Home Depot and get a normal key cut for the vehicle ( this costs about $ 1.50 for us here in Canada ) and try to start the car with this new key. If the car starts, then no Immobilizer, but if it doesn't you have to get a spare key from the owner and bypass the system. The Eclipse uses an Immobilizer system so you will need a spare key and use this diagram to bypass it : http://www.velocitymotorsport.com/install_notes/Ford_PATS_bypass. htm This is an universal type bypass module method that I use for all types of Immobilizer's that do not have a keyless version out sale yet.It has never failed me .

As far as the dash LED goes, make sure that this icon is not part of the Immobilizer circuit because I know that most Honda's that have an Immobilizer use a small GREEN icon with a KEY on the dash and if you try to start the car without a properly programmed key, this ICON will light up, but only at this time. If you deactivate this portion of the circuit, you may get an error on the dash that you will need the dealership to erase from the BCM and that means it will cost you $$$$. Install responsibly & think before you act
