Do yourself a favor and get a module for this one, it's night and day. The 457G will bypass the Passlock, work the locks and factory alarm, and give you door trigger.

The 2005 GM trucks are a pretty easy install with the correct parts. As Mike has already stated picking up a data interface is really the only way to go with your truck. That one piece handles door locks, alarm arm/disarm and passlock bypass with a single wire connection to the vehicle.
