Hey there! I'm going to attempt a starter in a 2008 Grand Caravan tomorrow, using an Omega Mars11, and an Omega IM06 transponder bypass with SICH1 0.02 firmware. Has anyone attempted one of these vehicles yet? The manual for the bypass tells me to take apart a module at the ignition barrel and solder wires directly to the board. I'm just looking for some advice before I jump in. Thanks! -Jason @AudioMan |

Test to see if you need a bypass first because you may not need it. It will have a second starter multiplex that you will need to isolate through a relay and 180 ohm resistor. If you need diagram let me know. ___________________________________________ The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya |

Got it installed today, but a few issues. Followed SICH diagram, everything connected inside ignition baril. When RS is activated, there's a ding, like the key is in the ignition, but none of the lights on the dashboard turn on, or the accessories. Double checked everything is still intact inside the ign. Also, can't find the brake wire, or parking lights. The only tech sheet I have is from Code Alarm, and it's pretty sparse to say the least. Please help! Jason |

This vehicle takes less then 1:30h using an iDataLink module. It takes care of everything, why would you use the hard way with these vehicles. The iDataLink module is taking care of the whole ignition cycle (the way the ignition is cycled is critical on these vehicles) the bypasskit relies on the remote starter ignition cycle which will not work wit every remote starters. starts at page 13 http://www.idatalink.com/store/viewDoc.php?id=79 ___________________________________________ If you fail on your first attempt, at least destroy all evidence you tried! |

| We just switched over to the ADS-AL-CA module as the main one that we stock, and I must say its great. We utilized one today on a 2008 Grand Caravan SXT. The only thing I disagree with is taking apart the wireless ignition module. They state in the directions that if you solder onto the pins underneath the cover that you will not be able to separate the circuit boards....but there is absolutely no need to ever separate the circuit boards, these modules are not serviceable and can only be ordered as whole pieces. My recommendation is to solder to the pins that you can see when you remove the access panel. |
