Depends what kind of bass do you want, literally all techno and rock songs have bass.
Do you want hard hitting bass (HEAD-ACHE iNDUCING) or low vibrating bass?

I have two songs in my arsenal that I test and tune systems with.   Granted I have tons of test CD's from Focal, IASCA, Denon, Yamaha, etc, etc, but for setting my amps quickly and reliably I use my two tracks.

Track 1:  Faith No More - Stripsearch.  (Album of the Year)

Track 2:  Madonna - I love New York.  (Confessions on a Dancefloor)

I'm not proud of the second track but the bass is clean, loud, and I know exactly how it should sound.

That I think is the key to a good test CD.  Knowing the track and what it should sound like, is essential to setting up amplifiers and sound systems if you don't have complex equipment such as RTA's, Oscilliscopes, etc.

BTW. for a good rock CD that hits hard, loud, and has excellent fidelity check out Disturbed - 10,000 fists.  Another good rock CD is Nickleback - All the Right Reasons.

Both CD's have fast hard hitting kick drum, and are clean tracks.  No clipped signals.

I've always liked the Chemical Brothers for my techno. "Galvanize" from their album Push the Button is always a good choice. But mixers like Dangamouse always help out in the drum and bass side of techno too. Check out "Darker". It's an hour long but the first 2-3 minutes should be enough to rattle some filings loose with a heavy system.

Perhaps something from Crystal Method. I rather like Trip like I do, Keep hope Alive, and Vapor Trail. True Grit from the legion of boom album isn't bad.

Not all that boomy, but
Depeche Mode's Dream on.
Wondering Star and Glory Box from Portis Head
Never No More from Pasty Cline (classical double bass in the back ground)
Pink Floyd: Wish you were here
Steppinwolf: Magic Carpet Ride
Garbage: #1 Crush

For dynamic range, very little can beat Wagner. I like The Flying Dutchman and the Valkyries.

wow...... BulletBoys! what a great band, that was an awesome album!

Also, there are some really nice bass notes to be found on Dire Straits / Brothers in Arms, Metallica / Master of Puppets, Robert Plant / Now and Zen, Robert Palmer / Riptide, Red Hot Chili Peppers / Blood Sugar Sex Magic, Steve Earle / Copperhead Road, Madonna / Erotica (European extended version), W.A.S.P / The Headless Children.

On the Rap side, take Eric B and Rakim's "Follow the Leader" for a spin!
