I used to be a basshead, then i turned more into a sq guy.. i became obsessed with a clean sounding system...  The infinity's will bang when asked upon but they are definitly more of an sq subwoofer....  mine are slightly underpowered...  by about 100 watts, i am currently giving them 312 rms each and i think they still have way more to give.. i am looking at the JBl BPX 500.1     2 of them one for each sub...   i cant tell you any numbers of what they are putting out, i have never had it metered...  my buddie and i actually designed a system for a competition at the local raceway..  it consisted of 6 12 in pioneer subs each running 400rms..  it slamed...  ran 4 amps 4 batteries and 300 amp alternator..  it was in a bravada...

nice i like hearing setups with alot of entry level subs. kinda change of pace so to speak. i heard 8 comp 10s. the black kickers, walled in a blazer on a kicker 1000.1 and it was way loud. but 2 amps? why not just get the jbl 1200.1 and run it at the higher, "2 or 4 probly" ohm load and the amp will run cooler and more efficient for more sq and less distorion :) those 1200.1 amps are the bomb!

Good point i did look into thoes amps but sadly they dont make them anymore..  i wanted to keep the same look with the plexiglass but there new gigantic monoblock is the gto14001..  it has a solid front.. also i dont think i would have enough room to mound them side by sid with my battery. my only option is to find a 1200 somewhere.. or just get 2 new bpx series.. i aso like how they are the power series and designed in conjunction with crown..  i am a firm beliver in crowns technology...

What kind of infinity components do you have installed? Are they the 5.1 or the 6.1

I've got a set of 6.1 in my car.

What do you think of them?

I have the 5.1 components. I like how they sound. They do lack a little at first in the-mid range. You have to give them time to break in and then their mid-range will improve. Make sure you give them alot of clean power, as they are very power hungry speakers. (took me 3 amps to finally get it right) When set up and tuned properly with a good amp the speakers are amazing.
