No, it wasn't you. You helped push me over the edge towards trying the D2D... The post was on another forum. Basically he was implying that the RS would work on the Trailblazer by only connecting power & ground (on the viper and xk01), neutral safety, lights, the control center, D2D, and the OBD II wire. He was claiming that the remote start harness of the viper was completely unnecessary, as the ignition, accessory, and starter would all be activated through the OBD II signal and the Chevy BCM (body control module).
The "supported functions" tab on Xpresskit's website, shows the XK01 will pick up brake, tach, and hood pin through the D2D. That's why I was interested in trying the data connection first. About the only thing it doesn't cover through D2D is the parking lights. I haven't been able to find out much about the D2D being used, so full details about the level of interface are sketchy. I haven't found any posted instance where the brake, tach, and hood pin signals are being picked up, so I can't verify that it will work like that with my Trailblazer. I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens.
As far as using the D2D, it seems like people are either loving or hating it. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. I'm going to try the D2D and see how it goes. If it's got issues, I'll swap over to the W2W harness. Then I'm only out a few bucks for the D2D cable and will just have to spend a little more time with the soldering iron... |

| the xko1 is an excellent bypass............you do not need the tach connection, turn off the tach and program the 5901 to do a 4 second crank, it will start in all weather conditions and will not grind the starter. also the 2 back door pins are at the bcm under the 2nd row bench the xk01 only monitors the 2 front doors. have fun and overall this truck is not too difficult. |

Interesting. So is setting the tach like this better than using voltage sense? Also can you help me with hooking up the neutral safety wire. I do't see it in this list. Thanks |
