I'm new here so I figured I should post some pictures of my stereo car which I did myself. These pictures are from 2000 and its pretty much been sitting in my garage since then, but its still my baby haha. So this is whats in it: Subs: 8 - 15inch Protech (each sub gets about 400 watts) Front stage: 3 - 5" Protech, 1 - 4" Protech (center channel), 3 - 1" Protech silk dome tweeters Amps: 2 - kicker XS100 and 2 -Xtant 2140c Accessories: Autotech crossover, eclipse processer, eclipse deck, home audio processor converted to 12 Volts(can't remember the brand), 250 amp alternator, 4 batteries. My install is done all in formica and tweed, with all compartments opening with linear actuators. Also I used to compete USAC SQ and SPL (NY, NJ, Conn, RI, and Mass) back in the old days so if you recconize the car let me know!

Haha thanks, the funny thing is that this was my daily driving car for 5 years. Seriously though my hearing is not like it used to be, but nothing beats being next to someone at a stop light and rattling their car bad and looking at their facial expression. |

For the sub amps I had 2 kicker xs100's which were rated at 50 x 2 at 4ohms, but when I wired it down to 1 ohm with 4 subs each amp would put out around 1300 watts total, so 2600 watts for the subs. The highs were ran off 2 xtant's 70 x 2. So all together it was close to 3000 watts, which in my opinion is way underpowered but I kept it that way so I could compete in the 301-600 power class. Btw the highest SPL that it hit was 161.5 in USAC, which ain't too bad Thanks for the compliment |

not that aint bad at all. I remember those kicker amps. They were pretty good amps. And as far extant, I get moist just looking at them let alone owning one(which I dont). Were the Kickers strappable?? What were the specs on those?? Tim |

I don't think those kickers were able to be strappable (if they were I was aware of it). I think I was mistaken on the power output of those kickers. On their birth sheet I think they said in the range of 1500 @ 14.4 volts and I had a big aftermarket alternator with a voltage regulator which I would set at 16.5 volts for the SPL shows. So if the power output of the amps are linear (i'm not sure) they were probably doing around 1700 watts each. Those xtants were great for SQ, super clean with built in crossover pins, and they even had a noise gate. I'm getting excited and may have to do a straight up SPL car now. ( Its been like 9 years!) |
