I've a 2000 Vstar classic 1100, I purchased an alarm system for it, and was trying to install the remote starter, till I blew a few fuses, replaced the blown fuses, now I'm left with no neutral indicator light, and the engine wont turn over, yet I have power to everyting , is there a seperate neutral fuse hidden somewhere else then where the 4 fuses are located?? Or did I really screw something up badly The tank wasen't on the bike when the short happened, when I seen the bike wouldn't start no more, I put the tank back on and seen no neutral light, I checked and the bike was definatly in neutral so the light being burnt out is not the culprit, I've tried starting the bike with stand up and clutch drawn in, again no go, Thanks for your time |

| Have you checked the kill switch mounted on the right handlebar? And have you tried push starting the bike to make sure the Ignition circuits are OK? |

| Kill switch is on, and to push start a V-Twin on a gravel road,, well that's out of the question |

| don't know if you fixed this already. I have an 01 gsxr 600 and the same thing sorta happened. first of all, does it crank at all? |

| DIva, I am pretty sure his starter motor will not even begin to turn without the neutral light illuminated. What did you find to be the problem on your bike? Or did you not get it working? |

LOL! 750 Ducati, at night, flat battery, 120W perm-magnet alternator kicks in above 3000 RPM, and I am not sober. (At a closed Outlaw even. Even the Outlaws were suggesting I leave the bike and come back in the morning; those Dear Angels!)
I presume it needs the neutral "circuit" to start?
What about clutch in?
If all other bells, lights & whistles work, I'd suspect a blown neutral circuit - probably the switch.
But surely there is some bypass - like clutch in?
IMO a bypass (for emergencies) is essential. (My mom even has one on her automatic tintop for when the Park-Neutral circuit fails, or for cranking away from oncoming obstacles!) |

| it will try to start if you pull in the clutch... At least mine did. Tried with the kickstand up and down, neutral, first.... everything. Took it to the local shop and ended up being a busted o-ring inside the fuel pump! While turning the key to "on" you couldn't hear the pump fire up but it would turn over. Fixed now, but i think it's time for a new one. if my bike isn't over 170 degrees it starts to bunny hop (scarey in 2nd AND IN a turn!) |
