I am painting a wood box with a HVLP gun but I only have a .8 tip on it. I already have the box primed and ready to go, but I am unsure as to whether my tip is sufficient. I cant get a bigger tip so if it wont work I need a new gun. If I need to then I need to but then what good IS a .8 tip good for anyways? ___________________________________ double-secret reverse-osmosis speaker-cone-induced high-level interference distortion, Its a killer

We use .8 tips for bumper repair and small areas, we've also painted complete bumpers with this size as well. I think you'll be OK. You could use 1.0 and and get it done faster if its a big box.
