Hi everybody...
I have completed my first build and I stayed just about in the budget I had planned, and got just the right amount of sound I was looking for.
1998 Chevrolet Prizm
Aiwa CDC-X217 Headunit (Because I like it.)
4 x Pioneer 6.5" 2-way speakers 30w RMS (powered ~20w RMS off headunit)
2 x MTX Thunder 5000's in sealed enclosure 4ohm 250w RMS each, wired parallel for 2ohm
1 x Alpine MRP-M500 Monoblock Amp 500w RMS @ 2ohm
Headunit: $35
Speakers: $90
Amplifier: $150
Subs: FREE
Wires, Misc: $60
I know it's not a high-end setup, but it's just right for now.

Congrats. Did you fuse it properly, and you should mount the box for security, and put some dynamat on the rear deck lid to help with resonances.

| Yes, amplifier has two 30 amp fuses and power wire has 60 amp fuse. |

Sorry, I lied... Now I am done... for now...
Yesterday I bought and installed a Kenwood KDC-MP245 headunit I bought for $45 on clearance at work.
