Does any one know what wire is the starter wire on a 2005 Chevy cobalt
i installed a alarm and cant find the wire to cut for the starter i am trying to cut off the starter when the alarm is armed |

I thought that vehicle had data start commands. After looking at Audiovox info for that vehicle, I think it does.
Battery RED/BLACK (+) BCM - PIN D1 - IN C3 PLUG
Ignition 1 YELLOW (+) IGNITION HARNESS
Accessory 1 BROWN (+) IGNITION HARNESS
Starter 1 ******
Anti-Theft Type PASSLOCK 2 |

If all you are doing is starter kill, here is the wire you need to interrupt:
Purple wire (for starter kill only)-located at starter or at underhood fuse box, black 68 pin plug, pin B10. I would suggest having your starter kill relay installed inside the car and then extending the appropriate gauge wires out to the purple wire under the hood.

Try testing. Actually it doesn't matter and I'll let someone else explain why.

The purple starter wire is a (+) circuit. it doesn't matter as the relay you use to open the starter wire doesn't use it for powering the relay coil. The relay coil should be wired as #86 to 12 volts + ignition and the terminal #85 to the starter kill output of the alarm. Cut the starter wire and connect the ends to terminals # 87a and #30.

On the 2011, and unless there's a vehicle body change it should be the same, transmission control module adjacent to air filter (next to or under), black 49 pin plug, pin 41 YELLOW.
