Hi guys, first post here.
I have a 2004 Nissan Xterra, last year they made the first gens. It's an American vehicle, and I am in Canada, therefore as part of the required inspection, the vehicle must have daytime running lights. I've been screwing around in the dash installing my sat radio and my new deck, but always wondered why my vehicle would not turn off unless I turn my headlights off, even with the key out. Thought maybe there was a remote start system in there or something, but it's not.
While I was in the dash I found a relay under the steering column, looks like the wires for the headlights. I haven't quite looked at how it's wired yet, but basically the DRL setup runs fine, but when I have my lights on at night, I can turn the key off, and my vehicle is left running, interior lighting on, accessory power is dead, until I flick my lights off and then everything turns off.
If there is a way I can set this up properly with relays, that would be great. There is DRL kits here, but they reduce current when running DRL's, and if I get HID's they'll flicker when I am running DRL's. If I can find a setup that works on relays that would be great. If anyone can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated. |
