The information about 1986-1992 VW Golf (mk2) on this page:
http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/stereodetail/2175.html is slightly wrong. The rear speakers are only 5"x7" if there are no rear shoulder belts. With rear shoulder belts the rear speakers are 4"x6". The car was also available with optional 5 1/4" speakers in the doors. 5 1/4" door speakers can be added to cars that were not equiped with them by replacing the door pockets with speaker pods that are available on ebay. For more information on VW speaker sizes, see this page:

Very wrong, in the EU that car ONLY came with rear seat belts and the rear speakers were Euro (not US/Japanese) pattern 4" x 6".
NOT 5" x 7" which were a Ford and Mazda pattern from the late 90s, i.e. 20 years later.
For what it's worth you're right about the fronts, I should know I installed literally 100's of MkII Golfs. ___________________________________ Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first.
Read the installation manual, do a search here for your vehicle wiring. |

The mods appear to have blocked your previous fog light post the answer to your last post is not necessarily relays but check your grounds (earths), MkI and MkII were notorious for bad grounding, esp. body panels, add relays and GROUND at the BATTERY NEG. ___________________________________ Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first.
