Has anyone installed a Viper 5701 with an Xpresskit DB-ALL interface module on a 98 Chevy truck/SUV? I have everything installed according to the diagrams for both items, but I cannot get the DB-ALL to recognize the start position of the key. The LED on the module flashes orange, meaning it recognizes the databus, but it will not turn green when I put the key in the start position. Any help on this would be very much appreciated.

I'm not 100% familiar with that exact truck, but on a lot of GM's you need to hold the key in the start position for a few seconds until it programs. ___________________________________ Kenny

I thought about that and I tried holding it in the start position for upwards of 2-3 minutes. Still wouldn't turn green.

Is the bypass flashed with the correct firmware? ___________________________________ Kenny

According to the website, yes. It has the GM5 firmware and I am performing installation type 6.

Taken from another discussion:

the issue is the bypass module can only receive a start signal through data. you are trying to get a start signal from the car, into the viper through data to the DBALL.
on connector 9, connect the violet wire (start input)right to the vehicle or purple start wire of the viper. proceed to program and it will work fine. |

Thanks so much for the re-post from the other topic. That fixed my programming issue! The remote start now works fine, but the doors will not lock nor unlock with the button push. The DBALL is supposed to be able to control them. But if not, I will probably just have to set up the Viper to control them?

sorry, I mixed up you and the other poster... should have posted this in here:

According to the 5701 instructions, it will control a positive trigger right out of the box, with no additional parts. Is this true, or do I need to hook up some relays? I hooked the green wire to the lock wire in the truck and the blue wire to the unlock wire, but nothing happens. My truck has factory keyless entry, so I know it is the positive trigger. Any thoughts?
