I am making a new post since my original was locked.

Anyway,,,,I am a product of the 80's and have always wanted to do this, since a friend had this back in the day, so for all the peeps who don't like it, too bad, it's MY project

so I got this car originally for $100, it was green and old, we redid the paint (the only part that I didn't do with my own hands) the interior, lowered it and put some Lancer rims on it. Put a system with 2- Infinity Reference 10's in a prefab box with an MTX TC300-2 amp. That was good to go while my son drove it to school.

So a couple years have passed, he now drives my Sonata till he leaves for his mission and I have been able to park this in the garage and get started on what I have wanted to do for 20 years. So here we go:

I first did 2-JL Audio 15W0V3 with a JL Audio JX1000.1.....keep in mind that I was totally impressed with this car's 75 amp alternator, no headlight dim at all. I wasn't satisfied with that so started building the new boxes to be in a wall behind the front seats. So far I have the boxes for everything in there but only have the 15's and will be getting the rest by the end of February, including a Power Basturds 220 amp alternator, another 500 watt amp and 4 10's in sealed enclosure (the 15's are now in a ported box.

Anyway I have done everything myself with no help what so ever (except lifting the boxes into the car) and I am NOT any type of installer, upholster(er) or engineer. and it shows, but I am very proud of my work so far.

here are the boxes during the build

and the finished so far fruit of my labors

the box left a gap at the sides, so I made filler panels, I used 1/4" MDF with the foam pipe covering on the edge to give me some flex to seal it up, and then upholstered over the whole thing.

rearview camera to replace the mirror

the hinges are so that we still have spare tire access, everything pulls up.

D-LO...........................that's our last name nickname

ooops I forgot a couple things,

DB Link 2ga from front to back and 4ga to amp(s) circut breaker up front (200amp) and fused in back (80amp)

and here is a picture of the MFG name on the car

So I am told that my design will be self cancelling since I planned on using 2 different size subs and also ported and sealed boxes, so within the next few weeks I will be ripping this out and be placing 4-15" subs in the same format (walled), all sealed, so more photo's to come.

i have built multiple spl vehicles in my day, you are much better with the sealed enclosures in a wall atmosphere. if you are going to compete thats one thing, however with all the midrange speakers in your car if you are just wanting to enjoy your system two different size subs can sound great when done properly if your enclosure curves pick up gains where the other speakers let off you can join it all together wonderfully,

Will post new pics this weekend, already made the boxes, going with 4- 15"s

as promised, here are the pics, I got the Rockford Fosgate app for the iphone (spl meter) and hit 139.

and also did this, I know, I am an amature but I thought it turned out ok, from just sketching the logo from a speaker.
