| I have the 10w3v3 running off of 300watts rms, it sounds good but doesn't seem enough in my suv. Would I be silly to swap that out for two of the entry level wx subs running off of the same wattage? People say they don't "hit hard" but I think that two 10s that run more efficient off of the same wattage would have to be louder than the single higher quality sub. Is that false logic? |

I'll answer your questions, but not necessarily in the order asked...
Yes.

Only you can answer this for yourself. We have no idea "how much you have", NOR "how much is enough" for you.

The enclosure is well over 95% of how a system will "hit". I've run truly old school 8" Radio Shack woofers (four of them) in small PROPER sealed enclosures off an Orion HCCA225, and it beat the streets, I promise you! At only 50 watts, and $13.00 (at my cost) per woofer, you'd've been absolutely gobsmacked to hear them. I used to play them as the demo car at the stereo shop I worked in, back in the early 90's.
Build the enclosure correctly, and tune it properly, and EVERY woofer will perform to it's absolute potential. ___________________________________ That... was... (faints from epicness) |

get another W3V3, I run 2- 15W0V2's and I love them, thinking about adding 4- 10Wx's to it ___________________________________ 93 Excel (walled)

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't be able to get another 10w3v3 because I am keeping the same amp. I am looking getting two of these:

They are in the prefab box right from JL, just like the 10w3v3 is in this currently:

I know this is a tough question to ask you guys, it's all subjective, but I'm trying get a sense of basic physics of "loudness" per wattage. I just don't know if 2 wx's would somehow be disappointing in comparison to the 1 w3?
I was also considering the kicker c10

the "problem" is that I really don't want to take up much more space than I already am because I need to be able to use my 3rd row seating in the Lexus GX470. Thanks for your help and further input. |
