I am going to be installing a Viper 5501 remote starter and DBALL into a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder. Auto transmission, not Intelli-key.
I don't fully understand how to wire the Viper to the starting system of this vehicle. This is what I know:
Viper----------------------------------Pathfinder
Ignition 1 Out (PNK)---------------Ignition 1 (White/Green)
Ignition 2 Out (???)----------------Ignition 2 (White/Red)
Accessory 1 Out (ORG)----------Accessory 1 (Red)
Accessory 2 Out (???)-------------Accessory 2 (Green/Yellow)
Starter 1 Out (VIO)-----------------Starter 1 (Grey)
Starter 2 Out (PNK/WHT)--------Starter 2 (Lt Green)
The bold things are easy. I don't know where to connect the Ignition 2 and Accessory 2 in the Viper though since it doesn't have these connections.
I will also need to program the Flex Relay so that the PNK/WHT wire works as "Starter 2".
As far as I know, I will need to connect a relay into the IPDM of the vehicle as shown on page 8 in the DBALL manual here:
401.NISS01 1.04 vH00.S00.D05
Can anyone let me know what I'm missing? |

if you have no ign2 or acc 2 just cut and tape them up. ___________________________________ Ted

1st: As far as I know, the Pink/White does not have an option to be set as a 2nd starter (unless DEI changed that with their new modules). The Pink/White is your 2nd ignition output.
So it should be:
Viper------------------------------Pathfinder
Ignition 1 Out (PNK)---------------Ignition 1 (White/Green)
Ignition 2 Out (Pink/White)--------Ignition 2 (White/Red)
Accessory 1 Out (ORG)--------------Accessory 1 (Red)
Accessory 2 Out (Relay*)-----------Accessory 2 (Green/Yellow)
Starter 1 Out (VIO)----------------Starter 1 (Grey)
Starter 2 Out (Relay*)-------------Starter 2 (Lt Green)
The Relays need to be standard 4 or 5 pin automotive 30a/40a relays. Connect as follows:
2nd Accessory:
Pin 85 - (-)200ma 2nd accessory output (small orange in relay harness)
Pin 86 - 12v constant fused
Pin 87 - 12v constant fused (20a)
Pin 30 - Vehicle 2nd Accessory Wire
Pin 87a (if applicable) - no connection
2nd Starter:
Pin 85 - (-)200ma 2nd starter output (small violet in relay harness)
Pin 86 - 12v constant fused
Pin 87 - 12v constant fused (20a)
Pin 30 - Vehicle 2nd Starter Wire
Pin 87a (if applicable) - no connection

Tedmond, I am not sure what you mean by that. Cut the wires in the Pathfinder? |

Kenny, your solution does seem to make sense now that I think about it. I'm surprised that this installation is going to take so much extra screwing around. I need to add these 2 relays as well as the one in the IPDM to prevent the starter grinding.
I'll probably give it a shot this weekend.
Thanks for the help! |

i thought you were asking if the unit had an acc2/ign2 and the vehicle didnt have it, you would just cut it and tape it up.
since the vehicle does have it, you will need 2 relays.
space should be least of your concerns, tons of room under that dash. ___________________________________ Ted
