Hello, I am buying a 2001 dodge ram 2500 in the next couple weeks and plan to transplant my current stereo over to it with some upgrades.

current system is 2 6X9 alpine R powered off a 2 channel MTX 100W amp, 2 alpine 6.5" running off the deck, dual kicker L7 15" in vented box running off a 1500.1.

should i buy a second 1500.1 or a single 2500.1 for the subs?
i want to upgrade to a component system but cant find any in 6X9 so do i keep the alpines i have and just buy 2 tweeters with a cross over? if so i feel i should buy a new amp for the 6X9's, perhaps somthing thats at least 200W a channel? each speaker is 100W RMS and the tweeters are also 100W up to 400W.

perhaps use my current MTX amp to run a component system in the rear doors?

i was looking at alpine but im told polk make some of the best in teh market. assuming im on a budget is it worth while to buy the polks or just stick with alpine?

I also need a cap for all this, should i run a dedicated optima batter in stead of a cap or do i still need one, say a 10F cap?

my head unit is currently on its last leg, can anyone recommend some good ones? im running dingle din, don't want a fold out screen, need USB, bluetooth, aux in, and 3 RCA outs (front, back, subs). i also want a 4V+ pre-amp if possible. I would like to have hands free calling support and the ability to perhaps add steering wheel buttons in teh future.

I have been researching cross overs. if i were to buy a kicker kx2 crossover this is how i think it would be setup?
run RCA from front speaker output on deck to the cross over and then out of the cross over i would have 2 sets of RCA's. one going to my MTX amp for my alpine coaxial 6X9 and also on that amp would be a set of tweeters. do i just wire the tweeters into the same left/right output on the MTX?

the second set of RCA's would go to my 1500.1 amp.

what about the decks built in cross over? how do i tell the deck to not filter the highs/lows to teh front RCA ports and then what about the decks built in RCA out for the subs? do i just not use that? how much better would this kicker cross over be from the one built into the deck?

any ideas, opinions, concerns are welcome.

thanks
