Can you post a link to any of these parts? Any pics? I find it odd that Dodge would sell a double-din bezel. What purpose would that serve Dodge?

Dodge offers a 2DIN Navigation radio in the 2006 AND 2005 model years. Therefore, (for the cranially "challenged") they offer replacement parts for said 2DIN dash assemblies. This means we can retrofit double DIN radios into the Dodge Ram of those years without having to resort to clunky custom fiberglass monstrosities.

Ok - I have a 2005 Ram. The radios in 2005 are completely different than 2006. 2005 was 1.5 DIN, even NAV radios.
2006 radios are wider than the standard double din, and also a little shorter. Go ahead and get the kit and let us know how the AVIC just slips in without any mods.

You'll also notice that 2006 rams have round knob cutouts on each side that need to be filled in. But you seem to know everything, without even owning a RAM.
So yes... ok - you win on the 2006! The new Mopar Nav radio appears to be true Double DIN, and they made a new bezel to accomodate it - cool. The old RB4 NAV radio is for the 2005 Ram, and it is 1.5 DIN. Even with a Bezel, the double DIN radio in a 2005 RAM requires much plastic hacking to get it to fit in there. I assume the 2006 has the extra room already.

Im actually tryin to install nav on my 06 ram. I got the bezel from dodge but the problem is, the whole is to big. Its almost a 1/4" all the way around, maybe a bit more on the sides. I cant find anyone with a trim ring to fill it

I apologize for the insulting comment above, but I just felt that people werent taking the the time to realize that I was correct about the shift by Dodge to 2 DIN for the NAV radios from 1.5DIN (in the 2006 model year). As it stands, my 2006 DOdge Ram 3500 Laramie has been loaded on the train and is somewhere between Laredo TX, And Kellogg, ID. (I ordered truck in February). I do not own the 2006 (yet) but I do own an older Ram! Looks like now though that the Dodge "2 DIN" is really a 2.1 DIN! (I will make the AVIC Z1 FIT though- whatever it takes!

Just to add in case someone needs, if you get the NAV panel, as you well know it's larger than 2-din so you can get the Metra 99-6510 dash kit for a factory look. This kit is for all Chrysler/Dodge models with the factory NAV dash panel and putting in a standard after market 2-din radio.

can someone please tell where to get the NAV panel for a 2005 ram 1500 ? Using the Metra 99-6510 would be great if I could actually find the panel. I went to dodgeparts and put the part# 5JZ131Z2AC in as stated above but it's not found. Please help.
