I'm old and stupid or I might have found better things to do with my time

The first problem with standard cab Rangers is that there is no room, so we need to get real creative. First we use all the space behind us. The two Kenwood amps are also powder coated so that they better match the overall look in the back

I still need one more amp. It is actually used TriMode. It does the tweeters and the centerchannel speaker. The only place I could find for the amp was in the Kick panel

We need to look carefully under the ashtray to see the centerchannel speaker. It is a Polk Audio EX II 6-1/2-inch speaker in a sealed enclosure. The ashtray is filled with the DVD player, I quit smoking 14-years ago.

I like my Ipod and I needed a place to put it. Rangers do not have Overhead consoles as options so I borrowed one from an Explorer. I also had to mount my Mobile TV monitor up there

The Ipod is mounted in the console

Both Monitors

Anyway thats my truck in a nut shell, I have a TV tuner, had it for a little over a year now. Need to find a place to put it

I am really picky about my install including how it sounds. First, I'm old, nearly 50. Mid Bass is soooo important. Ted Nugents guitar need to be felt and heard. Deep Purple needs to come across as real. (Your Thinking "who?") It seems to be really difficult to reproduce old rock in a car (or truck).

First any speaker can reproduce those frequencies so in my opinion we need to fix the truck. First I dynomat the doors and then I add baffles that I got out of a 99 Ford Thunderbird.

A little acoustic fill never hurts a thin so I add a little. I like to keep things simple so I also add factory Ford Connectors to the Polk Audio DX series speakers

I also added Polk Audio Tweeters to the doors. A pair of DX 3000 tweeters. The problem was that I did not like the way they sounded. After I had them for about a month or two I decided to fix the problem.

The crossover that came with the tweeter was a 12dB per Octave crossed over at 4800Hz.

After building a couple of different crossovers I settled on an 18dB per octave crossed over at 5000Hz.

Your question, How does it sound? I think it sounds great. If I didnt think it sounded good I would change it. I don't mind spending a few extra hours to get it right.

Very nice work! That's one Ford Ranger that has many "perks" to it. And by the way, I may be very young but I have listened to both of the band's albums that you mentioned quite often. Rock on.

I just added a TV tuner to the truck last week. This Farenheit tuner has AV1 (my DVD Player) and an AV2 input. I think I'll add a game port in the passenger door panel.

Oh hell yes!!!  This is my kind of topic......My first car was a 94 Ranger reg cab.......I had 2-10" Diamond M6 subs in there.........

I took the driver seat out...the armrest is connected to it...take that off....then rip out the foam on the part under the armrest...just that section...NOT the driver seat....then we sawed off the metal part.......Made a box to down fire the subs.......Then it also acted like a armrest....I will tell you I had one of the loudest Reg cad Rangers I have ever seen....Also had 2-sets of Diamond M6 6x9s, Diamond M3 5x7, and 2 sets of Diamond tweeters

bro i like ur setup on this ranger. I hope i can get mine back soon so i can post up some pics of it. i have a simialer setup with the monitors on the visors and flipdown in the middle, but i also had an alpine flipout dvd but they robbed it. mine is also a single cab so i know how much of a pain it is to run a system. hopefully soon i get my ride back so i can get back to work on it. right now the ranger is sitting at a shop getting a body drop.

I have thought about changing seats, I would like to find seats from an Escort GT (pre Mazda), the ones with the Halo headrests. These seats would bolt in on the Ranger seat tracks.

Body mods and big rims are a NO NO for me. The Ranger MUST look stock. My truck spends 5 days a week in a local university parking lot. No one ever gives it a second look and I like it that way. With the Sun Screen in the windshield no one even notices the monitor. The only exterior mod is a tool box painted to match the body.

Thanks for the compliments and post pics, I love Ranger pics
