I thought this was kind of interesting.  Kind of hard to have a good sounding stereo when the recordings are crap!

And people wonder why I like the "old school" stuff... There were some pretty good points brought up in that article...

People also wonder why I hate iTunes and the entire iGeneration so much... The software is already recorded with crappy quality, and THEN they hack 60 percent of the music out of it in converting it to MP3 (or AAC or WMA or whatever the portable format of the day is...), destroying whatever nuanaces and subtleties might have still existed, then sell it to me for MORE than it would have cost to go buy the entire CD! (On a track by track basis.) THEN, I can't even copy it or listen to it on any other device except the iPos. More money, inferior product, can't change your mind! Sounds like a Mercedes Lease to me! (FLAME SUIT ON!!!!)

I have 1200 watts running my doors, with an uber-resolution system in my car, and I can't even listen to half of my CDs in there... My fault, really, but I just can't be happy with anything less than perfection.

Yeah it's a shame.  I see people using their i-pods for everything from home to car and i know most people just don't realize how much the music's been changed. I guess that's why they can get away with it.  Too bad everyone has to suffer though.

I wonder how much say in it the artist has when all is said and done?  Like if a band can refuse the over-processing?

I cringe when I here noises that aren't original, especially when I think my tweeters have somehow got a loose connection or something...
