Well I have been doing alot of reading and have seen many pictures on the net of fiberglass kickpanels with hopes of getting ideas to create my own. If you could please take a look at my first set of fiberglass kickpanels that I made for my 96 Impala SS.

My pictures are huge and I did not want to post them on your forum as I am not sure on your rules. But please take a look at my album.

One question, did you put any layers of mat down over the fleece before you painted it? Or did you just use the fleece with resin layer?

Looks good man. I give you props just for being able to work on that box with that 2 or 3 foot peice of door trim hanging off of it. I know i would've gone crazy and broken it off or something. Now you're gonna have to redo those stock door panels to match.

I didn't do any layers of mat over the fleece. I used some pretty thick fleece and soaked it really well with resin. Plus the body filler/resin mix added even more strength. I don't have pictures of the body filler portion of the build because My camera was in my Denali.

I like what you did using that door sill but I have to agree with teh above post, I would have gone mad and broke em off lol. What thickness was your MDF? It looks pretty thick in the picture.

It was 3/4 inch. I had half a sheet laying around from a previous project. So I just used it to make my rings. Recycle!

Those turned out great man, and I liked the incorporation of the sill plate.

Yea, I was nervous for you at first guy. Like "he is going to snap off something because of those door sill/trim and the next photo will be an actual picture of him, looking wized off" lol

Yea, you must have been patient and careful.

I give it a 10. Like sawhit said, now you have to attempt the doors.

Great work though.

I won't be touching my doorpanels any time soon. What I am doing though is building speaker pods to REALLY seal them in the doors. This will give my Infinity kappa perfects a small enclosure to increase midbass. I'll have pics in a few days. Once I get a few more projects done I'll give my doorpanels a try. The door panels in the 91-96 B-bodys are really flimsy so i will need to reinforce them with glass and such.
