I have a '94 Ranger that I was getting ready to swap in an aftermarket head unit into. Upon disassembly I found out that this ranger had a "Premium Sound" system which included a factory amplifier in the passenger side kick panel. So, there are no speaker wires at the factory head unit location, only line level output wires that lead to the amp.
All of the connectors look like the pics for the JBL P-100 system shown on this page:

So, is this amp worth keeping in the system or should I just bypass it and use the Pioneer head unit amp?
Here are the part numbers on the amp:
F47F-18T806-AA
HAGA005940
Neither turned anything up on Google.
I figure the easiest/cheapest thing to do would be just to run about 4, 3' pairs of speaker wire down from the head unit location to the passenger side kick panel where I could splice them into the factory amp harness' speaker wires.
If there's some reason that this amp would be better than the "50x4" Pioneer amp I suppose I could somehow adapt the ford plug to RCA connectors so that I could use the Pioneer's pre-amp outputs to feed it.
There are also adapters that I've seen specifically for this application but it looks like they're just a line level converters and I don't want to go that route.
What's the best route to go?

Bypass the amp, at the amp. Tag the output side of the amp with your decks speaker outputs.

All you need is a bit of speaker wire, and some connectors (or solder... whatever you wish to use) and some tape.
