I just ordered my amp.... it's a Cadence 2 channel that's RMS 300 x 1 @4 ohms.bridged. How do I wire this dual voice coil in oreder to get the full 300 plus watts ???? My only options seem to be at 2 or 8 ohms with the woofer . The amp offers 2 x 150  @ 2 ohms or 2 x 75 @ 4 ohms not bridged. I read in a thraed that wirring it in an 8 ohm load with the amp bridged at the 4 ohm setting would give me the same power. I just don't see how. Please help....should I get another amp ? woofer ? or am I ok with what  I got ??? THANKS !!!!

A dual 2ohm would have been better. Then you could have wired for a 4ohm bridge to get full power. Your only safe/good option is 8ohm bridged. which is going to see you the 150 watts. the amp will see 4ohm per channel at the 8ohm load bridged.

NO 150. 8ohm bridged is the same as 4ohm per channel. At an 8ohm bridge the amp will see 4ohm per channel. You needed a single 4ohm or a dual 2 to see full power from the amp at 4ohm bridged or 2ohm per channel. 2 x 75 at 4ohm or 150 x1 at 8ohm is what you will see. You basically bought the wrong woofer for that amp or wrong amp for that woofer to get the full 300 watts, which ever way you prefer to look at it.

twice the rsistance... I got it. So what happens if I wire it in 2 ohm ? Is it a given the amp will burn up or is there a chance it will???

If you wire for a 2ohm load bridged to that amp, it is not going to last very long. Expect it too die a very quick and painful death. If it will even play at that load at all bridged. You could wire one coil bridged to reach your 300 watts at 4ohm bridged., but the woofer will only be able to handle 60-70% of its rated power handling. That sub if i remeber correctly will handle 500rms. so it should be fine with proper gain setting if you use just one coil.
On a side note the higher the ohm the Less resistance. Also lower heat. The amp will run cooler and longer life for the amp at 8ohm.

O.K. .... I returned the Cadence and got the Infinity 1600a 600 x 1 @ 2ohms, built and carpeted my box which came out to 1.94 ft 3.  The box is a little big for my little truck so nobody will be ridding shotgun comfortably, but can you say BOOOOOOOOOMMMMM ????  I have the Autotek ss 75 x 4 on my highs (which aren't the greatest, but seem to do the trick).... a pair of Cadence components 5 1/2 mids + 1" dome tweets , and 2 bass inferno 4 x 6 (I know I know, but they're new, cheap and actually are not that bad compared to the stock). I still an EQ to tune it all in, but for the $200 it all cost it aint half bad. I'll post pics of the box in a minute... I was relly proud of it ! Thanks for all your help. Big money props to the 12volt !!!!!!!
