I have a friend who has a 93 Ford Explorer with a JBL stereo system in it. her boyfriend installed an eclipse cd in it and now no sub output and it doesn't have any power. Can I get a wiring diagram for it thanx

Did he use any adapters? From what you described above it sounds like the head unit itself dose not have power, is that correct? Did he connect the factory AMP?

i think the aftermarket radio might not be able to turn the amp on for the sub, thats the sacrifice with getting new stuff. or maybe its just not hooked up correctly, hard to tell without more info. how exactly is everything hooked up?

check to see if it has one amp or two... some early jbl systems ran a seperate amp for the sub.. they should both be located behind the passenger side interior rear quarter.

did he buy a wire harness? if so, make sure the wires are matched up right ... and make sure the amp turn on wire was hooked up to remote line on deck... if a harness wasn't used, smack him upside the head and tell him not to be so cheap next time.

She may also require an OEM adapter to interface properly with the factory amp(s). It allows you to adjust the output sensitivity of the aftermarket headunit to properly match the input sensitivity of the factory amp(s).

No he did not use an adapter. It looks like he just sniped the wires and spliced the new head unit in. The head unit has a amp in it. But I don't think he hooked up the stock amp/amps. I need a wiring diagram.
