Just trying to find a source to find out where and what colors the cruise and accelerate wires might be, also what signal they need to turn on. Trying to get the remote start to turn on the cruise and accelerate to make the high idle work from the remote. If the ebrake is on and the cruise is turned on it idles up to 1000rpm and every time the accelerate button is hit it goes up 100rpm up to 1500rpm. Just trying to see if this is capabale from the remote start.

it allows you to idle up the engine, most diesel motors at idle produce very little cabin heat since the coolant barely warms up.   also at idle when the ambient air temp is below 60 degrees fahrenheit they use a heater grid to heat up the intake air, which draws ALOT of current you can see the headlights dim, etc.   Idle up feature allows you to compensate for some of that.

Thank you. Does this idle up feature normally work when started with the key? If so I'm wondering why it does not under remote start?

kartune man, you got me thinking about that too, if you can do it with a key, during remote start, it should do the same. as for the power, your alternator shoulod provide enough for the car to run with full electrical load.

The high idle helps warm the truck up faster and to maintain heat while its idleing, also its hard on a diesel engine to sit at idle for to long because it is not burning the fuel properly were as at an high idle it is. To make the high idle engage start the truck set the ebrake and then just hit the cruise button to turn it on and the high idle is activate and it goes up too 1000rpm and then to increase it hit the accelerate button and each time you do it will increase 100rpm up to 1500rpm.

I thought if the cruise and accelerate worked of a negative or positive pulse then this could be done through the remote start as it has to aux channels, but if it works on a bus then this would be alot harder to do.

The only real reason I would want to do this from the remote I guess is because of laziness but I guess having command start is the same thing though. Just want to be able to start the truck and then increase the idle from inside the house and then in 10 minutes or so the truck is warmed up and ready to go instead of still freezing cold.
