what does it mean when the tech sheet says-

Tachometer: NOT WHITE/ blue (2.3L, 3.0L), NOT PURPLE / grn (3.5L)

how do you find the fuel injector? so i have to run the wire through the firewall to a fuel injector?

thanks!

Fuel Injectors have two wires connected to them.  One is a common color found on all that cars' fuel injectors.  The other wire will be a unique color for each fuel injector.  That non-common color wire is the one that can supply the remote starter a Tach signal.  That shouild be verified with a Digital Multi Meter.

If your car had the 3.0L engine, there should be 6 injectors.  Each with 2 wires.  All six injectors would have a WHITE/ blue wire but the Tach signal would be the other (non-common ) wire.  Fuel Injectors are located in the cylinder head(s) of the engine.  Besides the connector with the 2 wires, there should be a fuel rail running by that supplies gas to the injectors.  Every car is different....

Most cars have a gromet or two in the firewall where there are wires already going thru.  Locate a convenient one and pass the Tach wire thru it.  You might  have to run the hood pin switch wire thru this gromet also...

Soldering is fun!

What vehicle? You can also possibly pick up tach at the rear of the instrument panel or engine management ECU.

First the CRV is particularly easy to get through the bulkhead grommets, one behind the battery, one coming from the engine bay fusebox, also there might be a blue wire with a plug marked test lead attached to one of the looms at either front suspension mount.

Also why the problem with getting into and out of engine bay? Depending on whether this is just a remote start or an alarm with R/S you will also need to run siren and hood pin switch wires through.

Here is a picture of a 2007 CR-V.  The grommet is high on the firewall and slightly to the drivers side of center ( US car ).
