I need one of you DEITechs to help me out for a sec.  I have finnished installing a Valet 561T on a 2002 Honda Odyssey EX-L.  I used a DEI 555h as the bypass.  I used the lock moter wire to pulse the remote start and programed the start for three pulses.  Everything is working great except that the starting of the van sets off the factory alarm.  I used the H1/1 factory disarm output and ran it through a relay to give a negative pulse.  I am pulsing the blue wire that comes from the drivers door DDM.  Instead of running a wire to the DDM I traced the wire through the door jam to where it plugs into the drivers side fuse box.  That is where I  solidered in the wire from the relay.  I thought I had it right but something is not working.  What have I done wrong?  Should I have used a diode?  Any suggestions would be great.

i hope you didnt trace the wrong wire cause the blue wire ends at a harness and the other side of the harness, i believe, is not blue.

Maybe I did trace the wrong wire.  I just did not want to run a wire through the door jam boot.  That can be a real pain in the butt, especially on the Odyssey who's boot has two sharp turns.  I realy need to know if I am going about disabling the factory alarm correctly.

Those Odyssey's are a real pain in the butt to work on. I did one on a 2004 Odyssey EXL and WOW, what an experience that was !! The OEM alarm wire is blue INSIDE the door panel and will only meter properly with the turn on the key in the lock cylinder. Another place to access it is on the passenger side behind the glove box where the OEM keyless entry system is, but you need the HODL module for interfacing it properly.

So how did you do it?  I looked u the hODL on bypasskit.com but it was not very helpful.  There has to be a way without buying something else.  Like using a diode to step it down and pulsing it in the right place.

Run the wire in the door to the window switch. I ran the wire in about 20 minutes for another installer who didn't do it once.

I will try that.  I usually use a piece of soild alumunum wire as a snake to run wires through the boot.  Any suggestions on  a better way?  Should I still use a relay to pulse the wire?

No need to use a relay to pulse this wire if the unit that you have already has a OEM DISARM wire. Grab the wire inside the door module and it should work for you.

So you are saying to open up the module and tap in there?  how did you do it in the other Odyssey that you worked on?

Let say I manage to pulse the key cylinder switch (BLU/WH) and the lock knob switch (PINK) to lock the doors and arm the OEM alarm (with that red flashing light on dash on), and, to remote start, I need to turn disarm the OEM alarm and I have a factory alarm disarm ouput signal wire from my add-on alarm tied to this blue unlock wire on the door lock knob switch. What you said about was just pulsing this blue unlock wire is not enough to disarm the OEM. Question I have if I should pulse the BLK/RED unlock wire on the door lock knob switch to simulate an actual key-turn unlock action so that the control unit can see it as a valid disarm. But then I don't want to unlock the doors while I remote start the engine.

I have been trying to get my Ody to do 2-step unlock by pulsing both blk/red and blue wires twice (or hold for three sec??) and arm and disarm OEM alarm while I arm and disarm my remote start alarm. I seem like I need to give up.
