Wondering if anyone of you guys install the Fortin key-override-sl for a camry CE 2007 yet?  Basically the manually says to pin 4(Tan) RX and pin 5(red) TX.  The spec sheet that they sent me said that the wires should be RX (Lt. Green) and TX (Tan).  Heck there isn't any green wires anyway.  Install it the first way but it didn't work.  Is there anyway to test the wires?

HMMM.  I've read the manual and it states that its pin 4 and 5 on the harness under the key cylinder.  Look for a 7 pin harness.  You also have to have the key sense wire connected.  Since they are data wires as far as I know you cant really check unless you have an expensive tester.  I asked that once when I attended the Snake pit.

By the way. These kits can only be programmed once.  Make sure you have the hold the button then plug harness.  it will stay lit.  Now you put the key in(dont turn) and look at the bypass.  If it programs then it will flash 10 times.

Yeah, it flashed 10 times but still it doesn't seem to work. I see the led flash when it tries to r/s but it dies. I know the remote start is hook up correctly because if I stick the key in (not turn) and do a remote start it will start fine. I guess I have to send it back to them to erase or unprogram. Sorta sucks that it only lets you program once only.

well in regards to that you should try to program the SL again.  Remove the harness and hold the button down and insert harness again.  If the light stays solid then the SL did not program.  If it had been programed correctly it would flash when you do this procedure.  It may be that you have 4 and 5 inversed too.

The 7 pin plug will have a "1" above pin 1 which should help you locate the proper wires.  If the LED blinked the 10 times, then it should have been programed and the problem may lie somewhere else.  Try inserting the key into the cylindar (but don't turn it) and remote starting it.  If it starts, then the problem is with the bypass module.  If not, then the problem is elsewhere.

Manually ground the ground when running wire and try to remote start the vehicle. If it fails, then it's a module wiring /programming issue & if it starts then it's a problem with your remote starter's Status output wire.

Velocity Motors - did that already. Still didn't start. Actually the remote start work fine if I leave the key in but the module doesn't seem to work. As of now, I think it's the module. I tried to invert the wires but it doesn't work either. but when inverting the wires, wouldn't I need to program again. Can't do it because it only programs once.
Steven Kephart - Still can't see the 1 BUT since it needs wires 4 & 5 and the connector HAS to be as follow
1 Orange
2 Red
3 No Wire
4 Brown
5 Red
6 Brown
7 Purple
because there is no wire in one of the slot and if I count from the other way there wouldn't be any wire 5.
dswift - It's a 4cyl... Sorry, I didn't know CE model came in V6 or push start
enice - Won't let me program again

Ah, I must be thinking of a different vehicle.  But your logic is exactly what I use on those vehicles as their diagram isn't very good.  And it is right every time.

You know, I had a similar problem a couple weeks ago and it turned out that I just was programming it wrong.  I was holding down the button even when turning on the ignition, and you are supposed to release it just before.  Once I figured that out it worked fine.  Let me know if that turns out to be the problem so I don't feel like the only imbicile to do that. fortin sl bypass, camry 07 -- posted image.
