What is negative output?

Is that when electricity flows from the negative side of the battery or source to the positive side?

Is negative output the same thing as reverse polarity?

Can electricity be flowing in both directions in different parts of a car at the same time?

And if so, why would this be done?  Why not keep all the juice flowing from positive to negative?

Where might negative output be typically used?

what is negative output? it supplies ground (return) to complete the electrical circuit. it is an output in the sense that a device is supplying it to a circuit that requires a ground connection to activate the circuit. a.k.a. negative trigger.
Prove your connections, use a meter!
I promise, I'll behave!

1. as per Electrostatic
2. All current flows from negative to positive
3. No.
4. Generally not.
5. na
6. See answer 2
7. Negative switching is common- horns, pin switches, & engine sensors use it because you only need to run 1 wire from the sensor / switch to a device.
