Would something like this work?  I'm going to have a 16 volt battery, and off of the battery i'm going to have a step-down module to drop it to 12 volt.  It's for a custom audio application to feed some amps.

The relay will not convert 16V to 12V as shown in your diagram. If you have 16V in, you will get 16V out. If you wish to turn that off and on with a relay and and control it with 12 volts, connect 12V to 86, 85 to ground, 16V to 87, 30 to 16V out.

I know it won't convert voltage; I'm getting a step-down module from powermaster in order to do that.  There's going to be a 16 volt battery in my engine compartment, and the step-down module will drop what I need down to 14.4, so I can run my radio and the rest of my car electronics from 12 volt, and my 2 sub amps at 16 volt.  Since all of the ignition switched devices are going to be on the 12 volt side, I was going to use the 12 volt to turn it on and off with the ignition switch to feed power to my external voltage regulator.

This is a regulator to step down the voltage for the relay.
